Phase Based Therapy, PBT, is a modality used specifically to support children between the ages of 3-12 who are presenting with sexual behavior issues. This treatment can be used with a range of behaviors such as poor boundaries, inappropriate touching, pornography use, sexting, up to and including initiating the behavior with other children. The non-offending caregiver is engaged throughout the course of this treatment in order to identify patterns within the household and create developmentally appropriate household sexual behavior rules, teach healthy sexuality and build communication between the child and caregiver related to this topic, and to develop strategies for behavior impulse control. Both of these therapists have completed the training for this modality and 6 months of consultation calls.
